Summer of Smiles with Scholastic and Holiday Inn

Scholastic and Holiday Inn have teamed up to bring you #SummerofSmiles which is a great way to get kids reading, even when on vacation. Select Holiday Inn locations are participating, so check out the list here before making reservations!

With #SummerOfSmiles kids get a free Chocolate Milk Happy Hour (free at participating locations!), and a Character Meet and Greet Breakfast (breakfast charges apply).

We were lucky enough to get to attend both of these a few days ago, and here is what we thought!

Otis Spunkmeyer, and Fairlife Milk team up with Holiday Inn to bring Chocolate Milk Happy Hour! The kids can go to the restaurant area of select Holiday Inn Resorts and pick up their FREE chcolate milk and cookies (The Holiday Inn we were at was on Thursdays from 5-7PM but call or as when you check in what time it's at in different locations).

The kids loved the chocolate milk, actually saying the Fairlife was the best they had ever had, and my kids always love the Otis Spunkmeyer cookies! Parents can celebrate Happy Hour too with a milk and cookies of their own.

This summer, Holiday Inn hotels will offer parents and kids an unforgettable take on a classic afternoon snack. In June, select hotels will host a complimentary Chocolate Milk Happy Hour featuring indulgences both parents and kids can feel good about. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy fairlife® ultra-filtered milk, which has 50 percent more protein and 50 percent less sugar than ordinary milk - and is lactose free - and the new Delicious Essentials cookies from Otis Spunkmeyer®, which are made with 51 percent whole grain. Chocolate Milk Happy Hour days and times vary by location. For a list of participating Holiday Inn hotels, visit HolidayInn.com/smilesahead.

In the morning, we were greeted by Clifford the Big Red Dog, and Geronimo. The kids were invited to take photos with both characters, and they were given their photos in a cute themed frame to take home!

There was a table set up near the character meet and greet, that had a "Borrow a Book" sign, so you can take the book back to your room, read it and drop it back off before you go. Such a great way to get the kids reading while on vacation.

After we took the picture and picked out our book, we headed over to the crafts table! All kids can do free crafts!

Xander did a fun maze puzzle, while Riley made a cute set of Clifford ears! There were several crafts to choose from, like coloring, cutting and gluing to keep the kids entertained.

After the crafts, the kids saw the photo prop booth and they all wanted to try it out. They had so much fun with the Emojis, hats, mouths and mustaches. I loved getting all the cute pics too.

Finally, after all the fun, it was time for breakfast, and the kids had really worked up an appetite! The buffet was AMAZING. Scrambled and boiled eggs, sausage and bacon, waffles and pancakes, hot and cold cereal, breakfast burritos, donuts, muffins, bagels, fruit and yogurt...SO many choices, as you can see the kids loaded up and actually ate every bite, going back for seconds! The best part is the kids were only $3.99! Orange juice, chocolate milk, coffee, tea and sodas are all included too!

I definitely recommend checking out the Holiday Inn if you have travel plans this summer to see if you can stay at a participating location. If you do, please get a picture with Clifford or Geronimo and share it on social media with @7kidsandus and #smilesahead
