Captain Morgan Rum Review and Rum Cake Recipe!

Recently, I had the opportunity to sample Captain Morgan Rum. I really wanted to make an easy recipe with it, since we are not big alcohol drinkers. What I came up with is AMAZING and incredibly easy.

You will want to start with Captain Morgan Rum. Believe me when I say, you need a really good rum because the cake is meant to be savored, not like drinks which go down quickly. So it's really important to have a nice smooth really good rum.

What you will need for this recipe is simple.
  • 1 18-1/2 ounce chocolate cake mix
  • one 3.4 ounce package (4-serving size) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup cold milk*
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup Captain Morgan Rum

Cake: Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease and flour cake pan. Sprinkle nuts on bottom of pan. Combine all cake ingredients. Beat for 2 minutes on high with electric mixer. Pour into prepared pan. Bake for 1 hour. Cool in pan. Invert on serving plate. Prick top with fork. Drizzle glaze over top of Captain Morgan Rum Cake. Use brush or spoon to put extra dripping back on cake.
