Jellyfish Art- Jellyfish Tanks Make Great Gifts!

This year, my kids are getting older and they don't want toys as much as something "really cool". In trying to figure out what that could be I came across Jellyfish Art

When I first stumbled on the site, I actually thought the jellyfish were fake, I mean really..I never knew anyone who had jellyfish in their house, and thought it was impossible,

When we got the tank, setup was super easy.

First, you will receive your tank, then you will have to get salt water (the jellyfish have to have salt water or they will die). Then, once the water has been in the tank for a full 24 hours, you can order your jellyfish (the site asks you several times to confirm you have your salt water ready).

Then, JellyfishArt overnights the jellyfish, and you place them in the tank.

The setup kit comes with everything you need, including rocks, filter, tank, jellyfish, and food. Everything right to your door. The tank is really cool because it changes color with he touch of the remote! The kids really enjoy changing the color from red to blue to pink.

JellyfishArt won the 2011 Best Product of the Year at Global Pet Expo, the pet industry's largest trade show. Also received a product review rating of Excellent from Wired Magazine and was a top-ten product campaign on Kickstarter.

When you purchase the basic kit for $366, you get;
Retail Box Includes Everything to Get Started (all you need to add is water):

  • Acrylic Desktop Jellyfish Tank
  • Feeding Pipette
  • Whisper Quiet Air Pump
  • Airline
  • Adjustable Airline Valve
  • Check Valve
  • Hydrometer
  • Substrate
  • Color-Changing LED and Remote Control
  • LED Power Supply

Moon Jellyfish are what come with the tank, and you can also order extras, in case after time you need to. You can also order extra food from Jellyfishart.

Moon Jellies have a white saucer-shaped body that looks like a pulsing full moon. Their stomachs are distinct four-leaf clover shapes in the center. Because of their translucent bodies, Moon Jellies will glow with whatever color of light is shown upon them. Moon Jellies do not sting. Although they have the same stinging cells as all jellyfish, their venom has no effect on people. With no central nervous system, all their movements are controlled by a loosely organized network of nerves. Moon Jellies are found all over the world in a range of temperatures. The Moon Jellies we provide prefer room temperature conditions.

At you can purchase just the tank ($285), the 1 Jelly Kit ($366), The 3 Jelly Kit ($471) or the 5 Jelly Kit ($685).

Disclosure: I received one or more of the products mentioned in this post to help facilitate my review. All opinions are mine and I was not influenced in any way. Please contact with any questions.
