Kid Friendly Apple Turnovers (with the help of Good Cook!)

With summer approaching and school (yes, even home school!) ending, I am actively looking for fun thing I can do with the kids. One of Xander's favorite hobbies is cooking. He loves to help in the kitchen and cook whatever he can.

I decided to share with you one of my favorite go-to recipes for dessert (or breakfast!)

Kid Friendly Apple Turnovers.

I definitely can't make these without the help of a few Good Cook products.

Good Cook Chopper
Good Cook Cutting Board
Good Cook Sandwich Knife
Good Cook Batter Bowl

To make Kid Friendly Apple Turnovers you will need
  • 2 Medium Apples (I like Granny Smiths)
  • 2 TSP Cinnamon
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 2 TBSP Butter
  • 1 Package Refrigerated Biscuits
First, I have Xander wash and peel the apples. Then, I slice them in quarters and let him have at it with the chopper. My favorite thing about the chopper is that I feel safe with him using it, he knows to keep his hands up when he pushes down, and he really loves the chopping.

After the apples are chopped we put them in our Good Cook Batter Bowl (I love this size!) and add the cinnamon, sugar and butter. Xander mixes thoroughly.

Next, we take the refrigerated biscuits, and Xander presses each one out flat, then we fill them with about 1 TBSP of the apple mixture.

Fold them over, and press to seal. Bake at 350 for approximately 20 minutes in a greased pan.

My Good Cook products all clean up very well, and we use them for so many different recipes. I am hoping in the summer I can share more with you!
