Hallmark "Get Carded" Challenge and Giveaway

Recently I was offered the chance to take the Hallmark "Get Carded" Challenge with included me mailing (yes, mailing!) 7 cards in 7 days to friends and family. Hallmark even provided the stamps! How easy was this going to be.

Day one. I sent the Justin Beiber card with the music inside to my grandma who is in the hospital. I know, strange choice, but I thought it would cheer her up, and I didn't want to send a typical "get well soon" card, she probably has a million of those.

She called me the day she got it and she was LAUGHING, I haven't heard her laugh in a couple of weeks! I think it was a hit.

Day two. I sent the card with the cloud on it (underneath the cloud it says "crap" and inside "sorry things are not going well") to my uncle who recently lost his job. This is something I would NEVER do, but I wanted to take the challenge and put it all out there.
He liked the card. He said he was cheered up just by seeing his name on something fun in the mail.

Day three. I haven't spoken with my father in 15 years. But I decided to break the ice and send him a card with the kids pictures in it. Its been about 5 days since I sent it, and I haven't heard back, but I am hopeful, and I feel REALLY good that I sent the card.

Day four. I sent the other Justin Beiber card to my neice who is 12. It wasn't her Birthday or any special occasion, but she was SO thrilled to have a card.

Day five. I sent a card to Casey. It's not always easy telling someone in person how much they mean to you, it's always easier with a card. Casey is so important to me, and I wanted to tell her that. She was incredibly happy, she agreed words are harder to say than write.

Day six. I sent a card to my other grandmother who hasn't seen my kids for a year or so, I wrote her an update about our life, and included some pictures. She called me the day she received the card and was telling me about how she took the card and pictures with her to her friends house and was bragging all about her "wonderful grandaughter" all day. That made ME feel really good.

Day seven. I sent a card to my kids. I wanted them to get something fun in the mail, addressed to them, I told them how much I love them, and signed it with a kiss. They were so happy.

All in all, the challenge was something that REALLY made me open doors I wouldn't have opened in the past. I forget how easy it is to send a card, it's really easier than a phone call. I will definitely be sending more cards in the future.

One of my readers is going to win a "Get Carded" pack like I received (10 cards and stamps)
