Manitboa Harvest Hemp Hearts Review and Giveaway

My husband is very health conscious. He eats Cheerios daily, because of the way it lowers cholesterol, he eats walnuts every day for the protein, and eats flax seeds on his cereal for some reason I don't really know (I don't ask too much, because then he would start rambling about what's healthy and what's not and..yeah)

When I was given the chance to review a product from Manitoba Harvest I was really excited.
I knew for sure that my husband would be very grateful for whatever they sent, and he would happily google all the benefits.

Hemp Hearts

They ended up sending me "Hemp Hearts"
I have some experience with hemp, I worked at The Body Shop for a season back in 1997 and I remember how great the hemp oil felt on my hands, but I had never heard of the benefits of ingesting hemp.

So, I wanted to google it before my husband did, and this is what I found.

Hemp is full of protein (something I need as a semi-vegetarian) and omegas. Hey, I know about both of these things!

At Manitoba Harvest they recommend putting the Hemp Hearts onto cereal, salad and yogurt.

I decided to try first with yogurt. I found it to be very good! The Hemp Hearts have a "nutty" taste to them, kind of like a sesame seed, and it worked very well with the yogurt.

My husband tried it on his cereal in place of the flax seed, and said it was delicious, he said he will regularly switch between the hemp hearts and the flax to get the benefits of both.

I haven't tried it on salad yet, since I am not a big salad eater (I love salad, don't get me wrong..just finding the time to make one is not easy).

Hemp Hearts can be purchased for $8.99 for a 12 oz bag.

You can follow Manitoba Harvest on Facebook here, Twitter here and Pinterest here.

Also right now if you join their mailing list you will be entered to win $100! You can join here.

Disclosure: I was given Hemp Hearts to help with my review. All opinions are 100% mine.
